Biography
Jean-Claude Schwartz, MD, PhD, is an American breast surgeon specializing in oncoplastic breast surgery, breast reconstruction, and surgical innovation. He earned his MD and PhD from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, completed his General Surgery residency at Emory University, and pursued a Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship at Yale University.
He further advanced his expertise through international fellowships in oncoplastic breast surgery across New Zealand, Italy, Brazil, France, and the United Kingdom. Based in Atlanta, he is internationally recognized for innovative techniques in breast conservation, reconstruction, nipple-sparing mastectomy, and aesthetic flat closure.
As Co-Founder and Lead Faculty of UOBC, he combines evidence-based education, hands-on simulation, and mentorship to advance surgical training and improve outcomes for breast cancer patients worldwide.
